Objection activities

Strzelecki Community Alliance Inc. is run by a group of concerned residents and family members. We have over 450 households represented, totalling well over 1000 individuals within the 5km radius of the wind farm.

A reminder – the SCA is not opposed to renewable energy. The SCA is opposed to this industrial scale proposal too close to homes, too close to communities and located in a bushfire-prone area.

Petition to the Legislative Council

Overview

On 23rd of December 2025, the Victorian Government announced that through their SEC, they have purchased the Delburn Wind Farm. The Government will simultaneously act as the project’s financial backer, the owner, operator, and the regulator responsible for permit compliance.  This creates a clear conflict of interest.

The SCA have formally organised a Parliamentary Petition which will be sent to the Victorian Legislative Council for Parliamentary Debate. If we achieve the requirements to proceed, Parliament will be required to debate the Victorian Labor Party’s decision to spend $700 million of taxpayer’s money on a project that private investment has rejected.

*Sponsored by Melina Bath MP (Member for Eastern Victoria Region),

We have to options for the petition, paper and online. The very strict requirements of the legislative Assembly requires us to meet the following thresholds:

1. Paper must have a minimum of 2,000 signatures
2. Online must have a minimum of 10,000 signatures
3. All signatures must have a valid name, address and phone number (for proof of residency and validity to sign the petition.)
4. All signatures must belong to residents of Victoria
5. All signatures  must belong to a person 16 years of age or older.
6. Only valid signatures will be counted, and the only details shared to Parliament will be Surnames and Suburb/town – all other details will be destroyed.

We will be running both Paper and Online petitions simultaneously, and presenting whichever reaches the threshold first.

Once you’ve gathered your signatures, please either post the paper(s) to Melina Bath (see address at bottom of petition) OR contact the SCA on mailto:strzeleckicommunityalliance@aol.com
